Nestled between the dramatic cliffs of the Tramuntana mountains and the azure waters of the Mediterranean, the Bay of Deià offers one of the most breathtaking hikes on the island of Mallorca.
In August between a rare break from the influx of guests that we are more or less learning to cope with My friend Georgie took me on a little adventure to Deia.
The hike began near the heart of the village of Deià, a picturesque spot with terracotta-tiled roofs, ancient stone buildings, and winding cobblestone streets.
We took a path that took us gently downhill, meandering through ancient olive groves and fields lined with drystone walls. We came across a tiny collection of 17th Centary houses.
Soon these gave way to stunning views of the bay below thoughts of guests were becoming a old memory!
The scent of wild mint and the loud hum of cicadas following us.
The Bay of Deià, —a place that has drawn writers, musicians, and creatives for decades, including the legendary Robert Graves is a little bit of magic in an Island that in August is full of hustle and bustle.
Thx Georgie !
