A July Party in Pollença: Lemons, Friends, and Summer Sunshine
This year, we wanted to capture a bit of that magic and bring together our dear friends and neighbours for an evening of celebration—a proper thank you to the people who have made this little corner of Mallorca feel like home.
The terrace managed to fit 60 of us with Ikat table cloths and endless candles to deter the mozi's.
The Bougainvillea cascaded in bright pinks and purples, while the lemon trees, so abundant this time of year, seemed to glow in the evening light. It was only fitting, then, that these lemons became a part of our celebration.
As each friend arrived, they found their name, not on a card, but written carefully on a fresh lemon—plucked straight from the trees that have provided so much zest to our life here.
Lemons have a way of encapsulating the essence of summer in Pollença—vibrant, fresh, full of life. Our guests—neighbours, old friends, and new ones—chuckled as they picked up their lemons, holding them like small treasures as they mingled, talked, and settled into the evening’s festivities.
As the sun began to dip and the rain magically held off, We toasted to friendship, to community, and to the incredible joy of gathering together.
Later, as dusk fell and the garden was lit with the soft glow of lanterns, the party moved into that blissful state of summer evening contentment.
A feeling of being exactly where we were meant to be, surrounded by people who have made these past years in Pollença unforgettable.
I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this small slice of paradise we now call home.
