I recently had the privilege of stepping into the enchanting world of The London Cloth Company in Epping where founder, Daniel, has built a small empire of restored shuttle looms that date back to the 1870s
Though located under an hour from central London, the city felt so far away as I was greeted by the uncommonly friendly demeanor of a local taxi driver and whisked through a thicket of trees and rolling fields. With the golden morning light bouncing across the open landscape I was thankful for this precious pocket of tranquility rarely found so close to the city
Greeted by Daniel’s warm smile and dry-sense of humour, I could have been visiting an old friend. He was keen to begin showing me around the inner workings of his collection, demonstrating the speed at which he could take the most beautiful British lambswool and create an array of woven throws and scarves
Charmed, this trip marks the beginning of our journey to create the perfect Pip Howeson tweed…
